Shammai.

Shammai is one of the fastest-growing voices in Spanish worship in recent years. Puerto Rican, raised in a Christian family, her name appears alongside Manny Montes, Daniel Calveti, Karen Espinosa, and Gabriel EMC. Her music reaches mostly where the church sings: she tops 25,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and her YouTube channel has more than 35,000 subscribers.

She debuted in 2017 with the single "Inconmovible," and in 2019 her first EP arrived, with "Te Cantamos" and "Cordero Santo." That same year she signed "Restauración" with Jaime Barceló and began her time with Nain Music, the Christian label of Rimas Entertainment, where she released "Tu Corazón," "Siempre Venceré," and "Confiaré." In 2020 two songs became her calling card: "Aliento," a duet with Dariann González, and "Tu Amor Me Encontrará," with Gabriel EMC. Both top a million streams.

Her first album, "Mi Hogar" (2021), gathered eight songs with "Aliento" and Psalm 40 at its center. Then came the live "Lámpara Encendida" (2022), recorded with a band and backing vocals, and "Edén" (2023), ten tracks written largely with Genock Gabriel. In 2022, "Ven Puedes Entrar," her duet with Daniel Calveti, was nominated for a Premio Arpa in the Collaborative Song category.

Since 2024 she has released a new song nearly every few weeks: "Habita" with Pauneto, the EP "Mas Profundo" with Karen Espinosa and TEMPL, "Vengan y Vean" with Nate Díaz, "Rey" with Johnny Peña, "Profundo," "Una Vez y Para Siempre," and "Como el Ciervo" with TEMPL and Hosanna Ramos. Nearly all of them were born in the live recording series "Momentos de Adoración," recorded in churches, which in July 2026 was gathered into a seven-song album.

Hers is not spectacle: it is the worship the congregation can sing. Her lyrics speak of restoration, rest, and trust in the midst of drought — "You are the water of life that quenches every drought," says "Aliento" — and every release arrives with its live version so the church can have it before radio does.
