Elevation Worship.

Elevation Worship is the worship ministry of Elevation Church, the multisite church in Charlotte, North Carolina, led by pastor Steven Furtick. It began in 2007 and has not stopped doing one thing: writing the songs its congregation sings on Sunday. Before signing with a label it released four albums on its own —The Sound (2007), We Are Alive (2008), God With Us (2009) and Kingdom Come (2010)—; in 2011 came For the Honor, now with Essential Records.

Since then the pace has not slowed. Nothing Is Wasted (2013), Only King Forever (2014), Here as in Heaven (2016), There Is a Cloud (2017) and Hallelujah Here Below (2018) are live recordings with the church singing in the background, and from that season came songs like "O Come to the Altar" and "Do It Again".

In 2020 they released Graves into Gardens and got their first Latin Grammy nomination: A La Medianoche, the EP they recorded with Elevation Español, competed for Best Christian Album (Spanish Language). The following year they recorded Old Church Basement with Maverick City Music, the album that in 2022 won them the Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. That is their only Grammy to date, with nine nominations in total, plus several Doves, such as Worship Recorded Song of the Year in 2024 for "Praise".

Spanish has never been an add-on: Lo Harás Otra Vez (2017), Aleluya (En La Tierra) (2019), Tumbas A Jardines (2020) and LEÓN (2022) are versions of their own catalog recorded with Elevation Español. "Alaba", their collaboration with Elevation Español and Unified Sound, won the 2024 Arpa Award for Song in Collaboration and competed for the Dove for Spanish Language Worship Song. And the catalog keeps growing: Praise (2024), When Wind Meets Fire (2024), SO BE IT (2026), the EP Alleluia (2026) and Promise & Presence (2026).

Their music is contemporary worship with wide choruses, guitars and synthesizers, and the theme is always the same: who God is and what Christ did, not who sings best. If you know "Praise" or "Jireh" by heart, listen to the Spanish version you may have never heard: it is the same song, sung by the Hispanic church.
