Samuel Hernández.

Samuel Hernández Vega was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, in 1972 and grew up in Cidra. He started writing songs at 18, and in 1993 he recorded «Un Sueño Hecho Realidad», his first production, while finishing college.

A car accident changed his course: he left his job as an insurance agent and released «Soy una Vasija Nueva» (1997), with «De lo más profundo». In 2000 came «Faltan 5 para las 12, Llegó Jesús», which spent twenty straight weeks at number one on Puerto Rico's Christian radio.

The big leap was «Jesús Siempre Llega a Tiempo». His worship song «Levanto mis manos» reached number 32 on Billboard's Latin Pop Airplay, and the album earned him a 2004 Latin Grammy nomination for best Christian album in Spanish. Since then he has released more than a dozen projects on his own label, SH Productions: «Samuel Hernández en Vivo» (2008), «Por Si No Hay Mañana» (2009), «Inyección de Fe» (2012), «Me Conecta al Cielo» (2015), «Duetos» (2016), «Gracias Señor Live» (2017), «Hay Poder en la Sangre de Jesús» (2019), «Le Pido a Dios» (2022) and «Coros de Fuego y Gozo» (2023).

In 2025 he released «Dios Siempre Tiene un Plan», fifteen songs about holding on to faith when the road turns uphill, and in 2024 the EP «Aprendí a Adorar». Back home he has earned recognition such as the Tu Música award and, in 2009, he sang alongside Marcos Witt at the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot. His Levanto Mis Manos foundation supports visits to prisons, hospitals, and schools.

Today his voice sounds the same in a church as it does on a phone: his YouTube channel tops 1.36 million subscribers and one billion views.
