Nathan Ironside.

Nathan Ironside was born on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, and is today one of the names connecting worship in English and Spanish. By age 15 he was already writing and producing songs. The habit never left him: today he is a singer-songwriter, producer, and worship pastor, with more than 80 albums produced for artists and worship teams in Australia, the United States, Europe, and Latin America.

He spent time at Hillsong Church in Sydney, where he served in leadership roles, and in time The Stirring was born — the team with which he carries his vision of worship to churches on several continents; its Spanish-language branch is called El Despertar. His first EP, Your Love Is Real, came out in 2010. Then came Sonido de un Nuevo Día (2011), Luz de Tu Gloria (2012), its English version Light of Your Glory (2013), and Bravo al Más Alto Rey (2013). In 2016 he released Persigues Mi Corazón — also recorded in English as Pursuer of My Heart — alongside friends such as Marco Barrientos, Christine D'Clario, Ingrid Rosario, and Joth Hunt of Planetshakers.

His most ambitious project arrived in 2020: El Despertar Live, a live album recorded in Medellín, Colombia, with 8,000 people in a single night of worship and featuring Alex Campos, Marco Barrientos, and Osmar Pérez. With Algo Nuevo (2022) he received three Premios Arpa nominations: best male vocal album or track, best music video, and best alternative music album or track. His catalog keeps growing with singles such as Aire, Something New, All This Love, and Este Amor.

His sound is a fusion of alternative pop, rock ballads, and electronic textures: big anthems meant to be sung in community, not pieces to show off. Much of his work is never seen on stage: he produces, records, and shares resources so that other worship teams have songs with which to serve their churches. Today he lives in Cleveland, Ohio, where he serves as creative pastor at Journey Church, and his catalog — in English, Spanish, and Portuguese — keeps adding new projects.

For him, worship is neither just another genre nor a platform: it is a calling, and his music is best understood that way — as a craft placed in service of helping others encounter God.
