Biography.

Montesanto started without a name. In 2015, a group of friends serving in a small church in Maracaibo, Venezuela, was invited to a band festival at the Gracia congress, in Mérida, and took the stage without yet knowing what the project would be called. Today the band surpasses 1.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify and is based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The band is made up of five Venezuelans: Douglas D'Lima (guitar and music production), Yao D'Lima (vocals), Sinaí Urdaneta (vocals), Richeld Vílchez (vocals and guitar) and David D'Lima (piano). They are friends and family, and their name sums up the idea that drives them: "Place of Encounter with God," an image drawn from Isaiah 61.

Their first release was "Fuego X Dios" (2018), put out with the label Green Music, the home of Robert Green, vocalist of Barak. Then came the acoustic "En El Lugar Secreto" (2022), the live "Bautizados En Fuego" (2023) and the EP "Nuestra Ofrenda" (2025), along with singles that are now sung in Spanish-speaking churches: "Derramo el perfume," with Averly Morillo, "La Sunamita," with Alex Márquez, "Fiesta en el Desierto," "Santo Es El Que Vive" and "Abba Padre," with Oasis Ministry. Much of that catalog now comes out through their own label, Montesanto Music.

In 2022 the Arpa Awards nominated them for Composer of the Year and for Best Alternative Music Album or Track for "Derramo el perfume," the song whose live version has surpassed 50 million streams on Spotify. That same year, the AMCL Awards chose "La Sunamita," with Alex Márquez, as Praise and Worship Song of the Year.

Their sound is worship with a pop accent: synthesizers, a live band and long choruses to sing who God is, inside the temple and out. They keep releasing: in 2026 came "¿Dónde Está Dios?," with Unánimes Collective, and the EP "Como El Ciervo." If "Fiesta en el Desierto" is already on your playlist, this is the band behind it.
