Marcos Vidal.

Marcos Vidal is one of the voices that opened the way for Spanish-language Christian music. A Spaniard raised in Madrid in a pastors' home, he started at thirteen on the piano at Salem Evangelical Church, and in 1990 he released his first album, "Buscadme y viviréis." Three years later, "Nada especial" (1993) took him to the Americas for the first time.

The breakthrough came with "Cara a Cara" (1996), his first album with the U.S. label Sparrow Records: he was the first Spanish Christian singer to sign with a company in the United States, and the record passed 100,000 copies within a few months. With "Mi regalo" (1997) came his first Dove Award nomination. Since 1992 he has pastored Salem Evangelical Church, the same church where he grew up.

In 2016 he won the Latin Grammy for Best Christian Music Album in Spanish for "25 años," and in 2023 he repeated the honor with "Lo que vemos." He had previously been nominated for "Tu nombre" (2013) and "Sigo esperándote" (2014), and he returned to the running in 2025 with "Aquí estamos" and in 2026 with "Eterno," the hymns album he recorded alongside Marcos Witt and Marco Barrientos. He also adds Arpa Awards — "Aslan" won in 2005 — and a 2023 Dove Award nomination.

His signature is the word: lyrics that work poetry and reflection before the easy hook, with the piano as the household instrument, somewhere between ballad, pop, and acoustic rock. On "Lo que vemos" (2023) every song carries a biblical reference, with Ephesians 1:18 as its axis. "Cara a Cara" and "Buscadme y viviréis" each pass 14 million streams on Spotify, and his profile tops 570,000 monthly listeners.

This October he returns to the big stages: on the 27th at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, on the 28th at Pabellón M in Monterrey, and on the 30th in Houston, on the tour he shares with Marcos Witt and Marco Barrientos. If you grew up singing "Cara a Cara," there's your date; if you don't know him yet, start with that album.
