Biography.

Marcela Gándara was born and raised in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, a stone's throw from the border with El Paso. She began singing in her church's worship team and from there moved on to projects with Vástago Producciones, Jesús Adrián Romero's label: backing vocals and duets that left her ready for her own repertoire.

Her debut came in 2006 with “Más que un anhelo,” produced by Kiko Cibrián, with eleven songs. “Supe que me amabas” and “Dame tus ojos,” a duet with Jesús Adrián Romero, still ring out in services, retreats and camps twenty years later. They were followed by “Digno es el Señor” (2008), the live “Marcela Gándara en vivo desde Panamá” (2009), “El mismo cielo” (2009) and the live album “Marcela Gándara (Live)” (2012).

In 2017 she opened a new chapter with “Cerca estás,” now under her own label, Lv&M Music; the album earned her a 2018 Latin Grammy nomination for Best Christian Album (Spanish Language). The Premios Arpa honored her as Release of the Year in 2007 for “Más que un anhelo” — where she also competed in Best Female Vocal Album and Album of the Year — and in 2013 she won Best Female Vocal Album for her live recording. In 2022 she was nominated again, this time for “Esperanza.”

Since then she has alternated albums, singles and collaborations: the Christmas EP “Navidad entre nosotros” (2020), “Esta es tu casa” (2022) and the 2024 singles “Vuelvo,” “¿Por qué?” with Samu Robles, “Si no estás tú,” “Canta mi alma” with Ale Fdz and “Llegó la Navidad.” In 2025 she released “AM 7,” fourteen songs, and in April 2026 she premiered “Sublime Amor (Digno es el Señor)” alongside Misael Jiménez.

Her music lives between ballad and worship pop: wide-open melodies, lyrics that speak of grace and the cross without mincing words, and choruses the congregation sings without sheet music. She has recorded with Julissa, Marcos Witt, Miel San Marcos, Fermín IV, Omar Rodríguez, Susy González and Samu Robles, and her repertoire travels just as well from an auditorium to a church sanctuary.
