Luminos.

Luminos is a band from San José, Costa Rica, formed in 2015 when their youth pastor called them to start a group that would lead worship at the meetings. Mauricio Jiménez (vocals), Hillary Navarro, Sebastián Fallas, and Diego Madrigal "Michi" had known each other since childhood and shared school and church, and that friendship remains the engine behind their songs.

Before signing with a label, they recorded their first acoustic versions independently and uploaded them to YouTube, with the mindset of a ministry that serves its own congregation first. In late 2020 CanZion brought them into its catalog, and in November 2021 came "Lavar Mis Pies," their first single with the label.

In 2022 they released "Santo Espíritu," an eighties-tinged pop song with lyrics anchored in John 14, followed by "Te Necesito," "Me Eleva," and "Promesas." That November came "Ignición," their first album, with seven songs including "Medicina" and "¿Por Qué He De Temer?"

That project earned them two Premio Arpa nominations: in 2022 for "Lavar Mis Pies" in the Best Pop/Fusion Album or Track category, and in 2023 for "Ignición" as Release of the Year.

Then came "Original" (2024), with Josías Onoto, and "Nací para Adorarte" (2025), produced by Onoto: a journey that runs from Genesis to the incarnation and ends in the longing to see Jesus face to face. That is the heart of the band: church songs made to be sung in community, that depend neither on the stage nor on the numbers, but on a hope that never falls. Which Luminos song has helped you say what you didn't know how to say?
