Lowsan Melgar.

Lowsan Melgar grew up in Guatemala in a home where worship was the routine: his father, the singer-songwriter and pastor Julio Melgar, wrote, recorded, and ministered. That environment tuned his ear long before a career existed. In 2019 he released his first songs as a soloist and, after his father's death in April of that year, "Tus Cuerdas de Amor" —the duet they recorded together— became the door through which much of the continent got to know him: the official video of that duet surpasses 180 million views.

His first single of his own, "Omnipotente", had come out in January 2019. In 2020 came "Legado", an eight-song album that includes that duet with his father, a track with Christine D'Clario and another with Un Corazón, and that set his ground: Spanish-language pop with worship lyrics. That same year he released "Legado Live Session", the live version of that repertoire.

Then came "Salvavidas" (2023), with collaborations like "Corazón de Piedra" with the urban artist Musiko, and "VIDAS PASAJERAS" (2024), his most pop-oriented work, with which he won the 2024 Premio Arpa for Pop/Fusión Album. Along the way he has recorded with bands like Lead, Un Corazón, Miel San Marcos, Majo y Dan, and Marco Barrientos, and his songs have been played on stages in Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, Bolivia, Argentina, and the United States, in addition to his Guatemala.

Today his catalog moves between congregational worship and pop: "Fugaz" (2025), "Paso Lento" with CRYS, and "En Tu Lugar" and "Te Seguiré" (2026), with more than 900,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. In his lyrics the same movement repeats: trusting God when nothing is under control.

For those who grew up listening to Julio Melgar and now listen to his son, the thread is clear: faith is not inherited like a last name; it is received, worked at, and sung. Lowsan does it with songs a church can sing on Sunday and a young person can put on their playlist on Monday.
