Lead.
Worship and pop band from Guatemala City, born out of the youth ministry at Casa de Dios; their songs have amassed tens of millions of streams and are sung in churches throughout Latin America.
Biography.
Lead is the worship and pop band born in the youth ministry of Casa de Dios, in Guatemala City, and whose songs are sung today in youth services across the continent. From "La Cruz" to "Dios es bueno," their catalog turned a local group into one of the most listened-to voices in Spanish-language Christian music.
CanZion dates the group's founding to 2015, within the ministry led by pastors Juan Diego and Melissa Luna. Their first album, "Amor Palabra Poder," arrived in 2016 and made the house style clear: worship with pop production and lyrics about grace and forgiveness. In 2017 they released the English version of that debut, "Love Word Power," and "Ft.," a collaborations album with Miel San Marcos, Marcela Gándara, Christine D'Clario, Marco Barrientos, Julio Melgar and Marcos Brunet.
Then came "El Camino" (2017) and "Somos" (2019), with two of their most-sung tracks: "Dios es bueno," with Un Corazón, and "Jesús Pt. 2," with Musiko. With Un Corazón they also released "Sinergia" (2020), the album that brought them closer to urban audiences, and that same year they debuted "Tu Paz," with guests like Evan Craft and Kike Pavón. In 2021 they presented "Muestra Tu Gloria" at the Casa de Dios sanctuary and "Grito," a joint album with singer Dariana, which the following year got an acoustic EP version. In 2023 they joined the live album "Obra de Tu Amor" with Generación 12, and in 2024 they released "Mi Salvador," with Majo y Dan.
The cover art for "Grito" was among the nominees for Best Cover Design at the 2022 Premios Arpa (17th edition, Mexico City), a category that recognizes the designer and the photographer of the work; Lead and Dariana appear on the list, under the CanZion label.
Their sound is Latin pop with urban rhythms and Latin American accents, and their message points to the heart of the Christian faith: a God who saves by grace and a community that sings together. Their songs work just as well at a concert as in a youth rehearsal. If you haven't met them yet, "Dios es bueno" and "Muestra Tu Gloria" are a great place to start.
