Juan Carlos Rodríguez was born in Santo Domingo and is the male voice of Tercer Cielo, the Christian pop duo he founded in 2000 with Marcos Yaroide and which he has formed with his wife, Evelyn Herrera, since 2007. In the duo's credits he appears as vocalist, songwriter, arranger and producer.

From that first stage came albums like «Hollywood» (2008), «Gente Común, Sueños Extraordinarios» (2009), «Eternamente Enamorados» (2012), «Lo Que El Viento Me Enseñó» (2012) and «Irreversible» (2014), a catalog that put Tercer Cielo on Hispanic radio in the United States and Latin America and in the memory of an entire generation.

In 2023 he began his solo career with «Al Juntarnos de Nuevo», the song for which the National Academy of Music and Christian Arts gave him that year's Arpa Award for Songwriter of the Year. In 2024 he released «Te Amaré Más Que Ayer», «Buscando Una Señal», «Mi Alabanza» and «Orar Contigo Otra Vez», and closed the year with «Volver a Comenzar» and «Tus Bendiciones», now alongside Tercer Cielo; in 2025 he added «Amor Especial» and «Dios Ha Sido Fiel», also with the duo. His song «Mi Alabanza» competed in 2025 for Song of the Year at the AMCL Awards.

His songs speak of coming home, of waiting, of being thankful for the little and the much; of marriages that hold and of a faith that is sung as a family. For a generation that grew up listening to Tercer Cielo in their parents' car and now builds its own playlist, Rodríguez keeps writing the same thing he did at the start: songs to sing with the church and in traffic. His solo stage doesn't change the substance, it changes the format: he moves between pop, ballad and congregational worship.
