Jacobo Ramos.

In Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Jacobo Ramos began singing in the church where he served as a worship minister. The prayers he wrote in private became songs, and in 2004 they came out on “Aire,” his first release, with tracks such as “Tu misericordia,” “A pesar de la lluvia” and “Tu pueblo dice gracias,” which is still sung in churches in the United States and Latin America.

His second album, “Bueno” (2007), was recorded with his own congregation, and in 2008 it competed for a Dove in the Spanish-language album category. In 2011 he released “Dile al Corazón Que Camine” with Integrity Music; that project earned him his 2012 Latin Grammy nomination for best Spanish-language Christian album.

“Días Extraordinarios” (2013) brought three nominations at the 11th Arpa Awards, in January 2015: Song of the Year for “Tu Gracia Es Suficiente,” Best Male Vocal Album and Producer of the Year.

Today he combines the stage with pastoring and mentoring leaders: he founded AIRE Global and the Academia de Liderazgo Ministerial, and he walks alongside pastors and worship teams across Ibero-America. He has also recorded with Gateway Worship Español (“Gozo,” 2024), Coalo Zamorano and Genock Gabriel (“LÁZARO,” 2026); his most recent single is “Respiro Vida” (2026).

His music is unadorned worship: lyrics about restoration, about starting over and about a hope that does not depend on results or numbers. Songs made to be sung by a congregation, not to fill a trophy case. Which of his songs did you learn first in your church?
