Biography.

David Omar Rivera Rodríguez was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, and was already rapping at fifteen. He was seventeen when, after some health problems, he decided to turn to God and began writing songs with one fixed idea: to speak of the love of Jesus in the language of his generation. In 2013 he released “En Ascenso,” the album that took him from a local name and introduced him to Spanish-speaking Christian audiences.

Then came the EP “Pre-Nexus” (2016), produced by Los Legendarios, and “Nexus VII” (2019), the album that cemented his place. From it came “Jesús” — which passed a million streams in its first week and got a remix with Funky, Alex Zurdo, and Almighty — and the songs still sung today: “SVAE,” “Yugo Desigual,” “Si Tú Me Llamas,” and “No Más.” In 2019 he racked up six nominations across two award shows and won Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the Galardón and Redención awards. His list of collaborations says where he stands: Manny Montes, Redimi2, Gabriel Rodríguez EMC, Jay Kalyl.

International recognition came with “Dosis” (2022), his album with Musiko, nominated at the Arpa XVII in the Rock/Hard Rock category, and with “A Ciegas,” which competed at the 2022 Dove Awards as a song recorded in Spanish. In 2023 he released “Mi Religión” with Kim Richards: the album reached the Arpa XIX (November 2024) as Urban Album, and in that same edition “Dios” — with Kim Richards and Redimi2 — was nominated for Featured Song. That year the Dove Awards also nominated him for “Nubes,” his track with Blanca.

His music doesn’t hide his faith: he sings it. “Luna,” “Promesas” with Funky, “Mejor Contigo,” or “En Honor a Ti” speak of waiting, of coming home, and of getting back up — without sermons and without showmanship. In 2025 he organized his catalog into a leveled project — an acoustic EP, “Génesis (Level 1)” and “UPGRADE (Level 2)” — and in September 2026 he premiered “AVA.” With more than a decade of albums and over 650,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, he keeps writing Spanish-language Christian urban music from Puerto Rico.
