Andrés Babii.

Carlos Andrés Álvarez was born in Ecuador, grew up in Miami, and goes by Andrez Babii. He is one of the young voices of Spanish-language Christian urban music, and on his YouTube channel he introduces himself with a single phrase: "broken for Him".

His early years were spent in Latin urban music. In 2018 he appeared on "I don't even speak spanish lol", a track from rapper XXXTentacion's album "?" that earned him his first platinum record; in 2019 he signed with AMSI Entertainment, in 2020 he released "Tricky", and later recorded with Jay Wheeler, Jon Z, and DJ Nelson.

Then came the turning point. In 2023 the National Academy of Christian Music and Arts nominated him three times at the 18th edition of the Arpa Awards for "123 Enemies" — Best Urban Album or Track, Release of the Year, and Best Singer-Songwriter Album or Track — and he took home the award in the urban category. Today his catalog moves between reggaeton, rap, and worship.

There you have the EPs "El Babii" (2021) and "Why Do We Fear Still?" (2022), the albums "Songs from the Cloud" (2023) and "YOUR KING IS WAITING" (2024), and a nonstop run of singles: "praise.", "Gozo", "Wait", "Es Nuestro Dios", "Para Mí Familia", "Bonito :)" and "Una Relación", several of them on the ESCOL Records label. He has also recorded with Alexxander, Alive City, Anthem Worship Español, and Maverick City Música ("Gracias Dios", 2024).

His sound doesn't reject reggaeton — it refines it. The bass and the flow are still there, but the lyrics speak of surrender, gratitude, and family, and on his most recent albums they coexist with worship ("Jesús' Name", "4am Secret Place"). If you dance to urban music and don't want to swallow just any lyrics, his catalog is a good entry point: start with "123 Enemies" and follow up with "Para Mí Familia".
