Henry G.

Henry Alexander González, Henry G to his audience, was born in Santo Domingo, in the Cristo Rey neighborhood, and in 1999 he released his first album: "La Línea," which already featured Lilly Goodman and Tercer Cielo. At the time, Christian rap in Spanish moved through small circuits with no platforms; he had grown up listening to Vico C and Rubén DJ and decided that faith could fit in the genre too.

That longevity is where the nickname "El Decano" comes from. His sound draws on hip hop and reggaeton, though he himself describes it as "post-urban": street rhythms with lyrics about consciousness, the neighborhood, and hope. He is not a one-hit artist: he has been recording for twenty-five years.

His catalog includes "Bendiciendo El Asfalto" (2009), "La Eterna Batalla" (2014), "Quantum" (2016), "Antillana Motor Company" (2019), "AMC Reloaded" (2021), and "Universoul" (2024), an eleven-track album that blends rap, reggaeton, and melodies. With each release he holds the same line: sharing what he believes in the language of his generation.

The recognition came with time. In 2022 the Arpa Awards nominated him for Best Urban Album or Track for "AMC Reloaded," and the AMCL Awards included that same album in Sound Quality of Album of the Year. Earlier, in 2017, he pulled off something few would attempt: "El Manifiesto," a three-hour, 26-minute rap that Guinness World Records certified as the longest published song — a title now in other hands.

He keeps releasing music: "Almohada de Concreto" (2025), "Se Acabó la Espera" (2026), and "Amina Malasit" (2026), and his name appears again on the Arpa Awards pre-nomination list, in the Urban Vocal category. He has performed in Mexico, Panama, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay, and the United States, in addition to his Dominican Republic. Twenty-five years on, his bet remains just as clear: to rap what he believes, without disguises and without ever slowing down.
