Guidman Camposeco.

Guidman Camposeco was born in 1975 on the border strip between Guatemala and Mexico, and by age eight he was already singing. He was the lead voice of Gratitud, a guitar trio he toured with for six years, building a repertoire that marked a generation of churches: "Nomás un Camino Hay," "La Biblia de Oro," "Un Día a la Vez." In 1993 he recorded his first production, directed by Aníbal Camposeco and Yoli Villatoro, and shortly after he moved to Guatemala City to keep recording.

With "Sabes una Cosa," his name crossed borders and he established himself as one of the best-known voices in Guatemalan Christian music. In 2005 he left traditional record contracts and founded Guidman Producciones, his own platform for composing, producing and recording.

Since 2020 he has undertaken a renewal of his catalog: he re-recorded his best-known songs with musicians and arrangers from Guatemala and abroad. That stage produced "Recuérdame, Vol. 21" (2022), "Una Escala Más" (2023), with a regional Mexican accent and mariachi arrangements, "Yo Estoy Contigo" (2024) and "Prosperado" (2025), plus singles where he moves between tropical and big band, such as "Agradecido," "Como Corren Ríos" and "Blanca Navidad." He works with producer Ariel García at his studio in La Democracia, Huehuetenango.

In 2024 he was nominated for the Premio Arpa in the Instrumental/Choral Album category for "Yo Estoy Contigo (Pistas)," the instrumental edition of his album, made for others to sing.

After more than three decades, he keeps recording with the same constancy as at the start. His music does not chase grand gestures: he wants the church to sing. And that is his bet, in songs a congregation learns in one afternoon and that keep speaking of faith, hope and worship long after the chorus.
