Biography.

Generación 12 was born in 2007 in Bogotá, within the worship ministry of Misión Carismática Internacional church, and today it is one of the most-sung worship bands in Spanish. Its repertoire fills services in Colombia, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean: songs like “Dios Incomparable,” “Tu Amor No Tiene Fin” and “Encontré” are the kind the congregation sings without looking at the screen.

They formed as a community of worship leaders, musicians and songwriters, with Lorena Castellanos — songwriter and now CEO of Generación 12 Music — among its founding voices. The beginnings were of a local church and a live-recorded album, “Nueva Nación” (2007), followed by the first studio works: “Somos Uno” (2011) and “Despierta Mi Corazón” (2012), recordings that began to travel to other congregations across the continent.

The live albums set the direction: “Mientras Viva (En Vivo Desde Sudamérica)” (2014) and “Tú Nos Salvarás (En Vivo)” (2015), while in the studio came “Seamos Luz” (2017) and “Todo Lo Haces Nuevo” (2018). Collaborations became a signature of the project: Redimi2, Marcos Brunet, Miel San Marcos, Marco Barrientos, Daniel Calveti and Musiko first; later Maverick City Música, Gateway Worship Español, Essential Worship and Lead.

The 2020s consolidated them: “Esto Es Un Avivamiento” and “El Llamado” (2020), “Sana Nuestra Nación” (2021) and “Tu Reino Está Aquí” (2022), the live album that in 2023 earned them the GMA Dove Award for Spanish Language Album of the Year. They add Arpa nominations in 2022, 2023 and 2024, and a Dove in 2022 for “Sana Nuestra Nación”; “Obra de Tu Amor” (2023) and “Tu Amor No Tiene Fin” (2024) show where their sound is headed.

It is contemporary worship with a pop and rock base, lyrics of surrender and songs made to be sung in congregation; the band presents itself as a ministry that exists “to connect every person with the heart of God.” Much of the team now lives between Bogotá and Orlando, where the Mission Music label was born. In 2026 they released “Yo Me Rindo a Él (Si Te Tengo a Ti)” with Daniel Calveti, “Todo a Cristo” and “Todo Se Trata De Ti,” and on their website they keep the chords and lyrics of their entire catalog available.
