Evan Craft.

Evan Craft sings in Spanish with a California accent, and has spent more than a decade writing songs that Hispanic churches sing without knowing their author was born in the United States. He is a singer, songwriter, and worship leader who releases music in English and Spanish, and in 2021 he won the Dove Award for Spanish-language album of the year for 'Desesperado'.

He was born in Conejo Valley, in Southern California. His dad ran a homeless shelter in Los Angeles and he helped out there, where Spanish stopped being a school subject and became his second language. He started playing guitar at age 12, wrote his first songs in high school, and studied the language at universities in Spain and Costa Rica.

His public career began in 2010, with homemade videos and CDs he handed out at concerts. In 2012 he released 'Giants' and 'Yo Soy Segundo,' the album that put him on the Latin music map: it topped Billboard's Latin Christian Albums chart and reached No. 10 on the Latin Pop Albums chart. Then came 'Jóvenes Somos' (2014), 'Principio y Fin' (2015), 'Impulso' (2017), with Marcos Witt, Alex Campos, and Redimi2, and the EP 'Mi Casa Es Tu Casa' (2019).

The big leap came with 'Be Alright' (2020), alongside Danny Gokey and Redimi2, and with 'Desesperado,' 'Holy Ground,' and 'Tierra Santa' (2021), the same worship project in two languages. In 2023 he released 'Chances' and 'Más Rico Del Mundo,' which earned him a 2024 Arpa nomination for male vocal album. In 2025 he assembled 'Que Cante La Iglesia,' a live album with vocals recorded in several Latin American cities, and in 2026 he keeps releasing music: 'The Foolishness Of God' and the singles 'Miracles,' 'Give Me Jesus,' and 'Verde,' with Andy Rivero.

His music is worship with pop production and direct lyrics, made to be sung in congregation rather than to show off: hence his covers of Hillsong and Elevation Worship and his collaborations with LIVING, Evaluna Montaner, and Matt Redman. He releases music on his own label, Evan Craft Music, and has raised more than $250,000 for Mi Casa, the mission he co-founded in Los Angeles to serve people experiencing homelessness. Which of his songs have you sung in your church?
