Art Aguilera.
Mexican-American worship singer-songwriter, composer and producer: his "Hay Libertad" has surpassed 277 million views on YouTube, and his catalog keeps growing nearly two decades later.
Biography.
Some songs are sung once and forgotten, and others stay. "Hay Libertad," posted on YouTube in 2017, has racked up more than 277 million plays and is still sung in Hispanic churches across the continent. Behind it is Art Aguilera, a Mexican-American worship singer-songwriter, composer and producer born in California and based in Redding, in the north of that state, where alongside his wife Lea he leads the Hispanic ministry of Bethel Español.
His public career began in 2007 with the album "Te Entrego Mi Vida," the record that opened the doors of the Christian music industry to him. The following year, the Arpa Awards nominated him in five categories: Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year for "Quiero Ser Reflejo," and Best Male Vocal Album, Solo Release of the Year, and Best Singer-Songwriter Album for "Te Entrego Mi Vida." Before that, at 23, he had taken on the worship ministry full time.
Then came "El Cielo Está Aquí" (2014), nominated in two categories at the 2015 Arpa Awards; "Ha Nacido el Rey" (2016); the instrumental series "Ambientes" and "Atmósferas" (2020); and "Esto Es un Encuentro" (2022), the album that earned his next nomination: "Profundo," for Best Live Album or Track at the 2022 Arpa Awards.
In recent years his catalog has not slowed down: the three volumes of "Ambientes de Paz" (2021, 2024 and 2025), the EP "Ecos" (January 2026), and "Hay Libertad (Versión Salsa)," released on September 18, 2026 with Shekinah Ministry, a tropical reimagining of the song that made him known.
His music moves through contemporary worship with pop textures and spontaneous moments: simple lyrics about freedom, surrender and the presence of God, meant to be sung in community. He also founded Worship Culture, a movement to raise up the next generation of creatives, and hosts a podcast with Lea about rest and abundant life. His entire catalog is on streaming platforms, but "Hay Libertad" remains the entry point.
