Biography.

Some artists are measured by their awards, and others by what the church sings. Aline Barros fits both: she has spent more than thirty years on stage, and her songs are still heard in the worship repertoires of Brazil and much of Latin America. She holds eight Latin Grammys in the Best Christian Album in Portuguese category — more than anyone in its history — and in 2026 she is turning back to Spanish-speaking audiences.

She was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1976, in the Penha neighborhood, the daughter of pastors. At nine she sang in her father's worship ministry, and at fourteen she recorded "Tua Palavra," which stayed on the city's Christian radio stations for forty-five days. She studied marine biology at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, but music won out: in 1995 she released "Sem Limites," her first album, after "Consagração" became a staple in churches.

Her career has clear stages. With MK Music she released "Som de Adoradores" (2004), the best-selling album of her catalog, and "Caminho de Milagres" (2007); then came the live albums that made her a benchmark for congregational worship ("Extraordinário Amor de Deus," 2011; "Graça," 2013; "Reino," 2019), and in 2017 she signed with Sony Music. The children's project ImaginAline, which turned 25 in 2024, is another of her trademarks.

In April 2026 she left Sony to operate independently with AB Records and distribution through Digital Music Group and ADA Music. That year she recorded a new Spanish-language project in Nashville with production by Integrity Music: "Mil Gracias" comes out on October 30, preceded by the music video for "Mira Lo Que Ha Hecho Dios," alongside Elevation Español and Emely Williams. Her Spanish-language album "Redención" (2020) was also nominated for a Latin Grammy.

What defines her is simple: songs meant to be sung together. Her music doesn't revolve around the artist but around the congregation — choruses you learn once and lyrics centered on Christ and on grace. Her entry into Spanish is "Redención"; her upcoming release, "Mil Gracias." To understand why Brazil calls her a benchmark, just listen to "Ressuscita-me" in any worship service.
