Alex Sampedro.

His story begins in a Valencia conservatory, with a violin and a six-year-old boy. Years later, Alex Sampedro is a singer-songwriter, psychologist, pastor, and writer: four albums of his own, one EP, a Latin Grammy nomination, and tours across Europe and the Americas with his band.

At twenty he earned the Professional Degree in Music, with a specialization in violin, and the Advanced Technician in Sound. That same year he began studying Psychology, which he finished five years later, while studying modern singing, modern harmony, and accompaniment piano. Since he was seventeen he has served alongside young people in his city; today he is pastor of a Christian community in Valencia and director of e625 Europe.

His first album, «La Vida Es Gratis», is from 2009. Then came «Oleluya!!» (2011) and «Oxigéname!!» (2013); in 2015 he signed «Alex Sampedro» with the Reyvol Records label, a pop album with guitars and keyboards from which «A pesar de mí» emerged. That work earned him a 2016 nomination for Best Christian Album in Spanish at the 17th Latin Grammy Awards. He later released the singles «Sal (Nueva Versión)» (2017), «Gracia» and «Vaso Roto» (2018), and the EP «Vaso Roto» (2019).

In 2024 and 2025 he returned to releasing music: «FANG (Barro)», «Arena», «Oscuridad», «Tormenta», «Inhabilitado» and «Nunca Es Tarde» alongside the Argentine band Rescate. His sound ranges from acoustic to synth pop, with lyrics that work through identity, mission, and the life of the local church. He also writes: in 2013 he published his first book, «Igleburger», and later signed «Jesús es la pregunta» and the general edition of the e625 Bible for Small Groups.

If you don't know him yet, «Vaso Roto» is a good entry point; if you grew up singing his songs, the singles from these past two years show someone who doesn't repeat a formula. Which of his albums would you put on your small group's playlist?
