UnZion.

Un Zion is a worship ministry from Guayaquil, Ecuador. It was born in August 2021 out of the dream of David Flores, a writer and composer, who shared it with his wife, his daughters, and a group of friends. The name comes from the Hebrew word Zion: the high mountain, the land of God. Their first single confirmed it: “Quiero subir, al monte donde tú estás.”

The official launch came on November 17, 2021. Before that, “Bienvenido Santo Espíritu” had already been released (August 2021), and shortly after came “Sonidos del Cielo” (November 2021). In 2022 they released “Canta Fuerte” and “Inquebrantables,” and in 2023, “Junto a Mí” and an acoustic version of “Sonidos del Cielo.”

In October 2023 they released “Inquebrantables,” their first album, with eight songs. The pace never slowed: “Así Lo Hará” (2025), the EP “Así Lo Hará” (2026, five tracks), “Aquí Estoy,” “Lo Hizo Por Mí,” and “Caminaré Contigo,” all from 2026.

Recognition came at the 2023 Premios Arpa, on July 29 at the Teatro Metropólitan in Mexico City: “Inquebrantables” won the Arpa for Lanzamiento del Año, the category that honors the first recording that establishes an artist’s public identity. Also nominated were “Ignición” by Luminos, “La Vida” by Marcos Galeano, “123 Enemies” by Andrés Babii, and “Lápiz y Papel” by Stephanie Michelle.

Their music is worship for the church, not an exercise in novelty: the ministry itself sums up its goal as bringing heaven into the realm of the earth — songs that are sung in the sanctuary and keep playing at home. If you want to get into them, start with “Inquebrantables” and “Así Lo Hará.” What song does your church sing that you would love to hear again with a new arrangement?
