Nelson Onell Díaz Vázquez was born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, and grew up inside the urban music industry: his father is DJ Nelson, one of the producers who shaped reggaeton. He learned to produce and write songs at a very young age and went on to work with Daddy Yankee, Yandel, Farruko, and J Álvarez. In 2015 he had an encounter with Jesus and decided to dedicate his talent to God; between 2014 and 2016 he released music as Onell Flow, and since 2017 he has gone by Onell Díaz.

His Christian chapter began with singles like "Culpable" (2017) and "Lo Peor de Mí" (2018, with Jay Kalyl), and took shape with "Lleno" (2019), his first album, followed by "Emociones" (2021), "Más Cerca" (2022), "Lleno 2" (2023), "Refresh" (2024), "Más Cerca, Vol. 2" (2025), and "Música Que Sana, Part.1" (2026).

His is an urbano that doesn't hide where it comes from: reggaeton, rap, and trap with lyrics of faith. His songs speak of forgiveness, identity, and starting over, and they often cross both worlds of Latin music: Farruko ("Incompleto", "Misericordia"), Luar La L ("Confesión"), Dalex ("Abrázame"), Alex Zurdo ("Yo No Sé"), Funky, Gabriel EMC, and Obyone, among others.

At the Premios AMCL he competed as Songwriter of the Year in the 2025 edition, where "Más Cerca, Vol. 2" was nominated as Specialized Album and EP of the Year; that same year he won Remix of the Year with "Hosanna Remix", alongside Funky, Gabriel EMC, Aaron, and Grace. In the 2024 edition he had competed as Urban Album of the Year with "Refresh". His official YouTube channel has more than 250 million views.
