Biography.

Marco Barrientos was born in Mexico City and studied at Christ for the Nations institute in Dallas, Texas, where he graduated in 1985. A year later he released his first album, "Este es el día de alabanza," on his own label, Aliento Producciones. Since then he has released more than fifty recordings.

Before settling in Texas, he served as associate pastor at Amistad Cristiana in Mexico City for thirteen years. Out of that season came the Amistad Cristiana Internacional ministry and Aliento Global, devoted to training leaders and producing conferences, seminars, and concerts. Today he is the founding pastor of Iglesia Aliento in Dallas, and he keeps doing the same thing on stage: teaching Scripture and making room for congregational singing.

His catalog spans generations. "Sin Reservas" (1999), "Es Hora de Adorarle" (2000), "Transformados" (2010), "Ilumina" (2012), and "Amanece" (2014) are among the records most sung in Hispanic churches; "Preciosa Sangre," recorded live for "El Encuentro" (2016), has surpassed 125 million video views.

The recognition matches that consistency: five Latin Grammy nominations in the Best Christian Music Album (in Spanish) category, for "Viento + Fuego" (2005), "Transformados" (2011), "Amanece" (2015), "Exaltado" (2025), and "Eterno" (2026). In 2025, "Yo Sé" was nominated for a Dove Award as Spanish-language worship song of the year.

In 2024 came "Exaltado"; in 2025, "SALMOS" and "ALIENTO"; and in 2026, "Eterno," an album of hymns with Marcos Witt and Marcos Vidal that this October visits the Auditorio Nacional and Monterrey. With more than two million monthly listeners on Spotify and 1.7 million subscribers on YouTube, he remains one of the voices that define how worship in Spanish sounds.
