Biography.

Josh Morales is one of the three Morales brothers who founded Miel San Marcos in the year 2000 in San Marcos, Guatemala. They began leading worship at their hometown church, and today the group has twelve productions, more than 25 years of ministry, and songs that congregations across the Americas, the Caribbean, and Europe sing without looking at the screen. He is one of the band’s vocalists and has written several of its songs: his name appears credited on “Resucitó,” “Cristo Es El Centro,” and “CRISTO.”

With Miel San Marcos he recorded almost everything live: “Proezas” (Anaheim, 2012), “Como en el Cielo” (Arena Ciudad de México, 2014), “Tu Habitación” (2016, the first studio album), “Pentecostés” (Madison Square Garden, 2017), and “Evangelio” (Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, 2022, with about 20,000 people in the arena). In 2025 the group marked 25 years on the road.

His name began to stand on its own in 2020, with “Adorando en Casa” and “Mi Princesa” (2021), alongside Waleska Morales and Miel San Marcos: that song earned him his first Arpa Award nomination, for Song of the Year, in 2022. That same year he sang and co-wrote “Danzando,” the Gateway Worship Español single that won the Dove Award for Spanish-language song, and in 2023 he lent his voice to “Tu Presencia,” from the album “Celebraré (Live)” by the same Hispanic collective, of which he is now one of the regular vocalists.

The recognition kept coming: in 2025 he was nominated for a Dove Award for “Dios de Generaciones (En Vivo),” with Miel San Marcos and Waleska Morales, and in 2026 for “CRISTO (En vivo desde la Prisión de El Salvador).” Meanwhile he releases his own singles—“Sobre Él,” with Matt Redman; “Contempladle,” with Paul Baloche; “Resucitó” and “Santo Por Siempre,” with Gateway Worship Español—and gathers more than half a million monthly listeners on Spotify.

What he does is worship meant to be sung in church: choruses you learn in one listen, live recordings, and collaborations that cross borders, from Guatemala to Los Angeles, New York, or Dallas. His repertoire has pointed the same way since 2000: songs the church can sing tomorrow, not just the hit of the season.
