Fila9.

Fila9 was born in Buenos Aires in 2016 and presents itself as a ministry before a band: a Christian rock project that sings the gospel in Spanish with an Argentine accent. Its members are Sebastián Liendo on vocals, Andrés "Morfi" Liendo and Brian Torres on guitars, Rodrigo Acosta on bass, and Samuel Báez on drums.

Their sound crosses punk rock, British rock, indie, and Argentine rock: edgy guitars and choruses made to be sung together. You can hear it from the first 2016 singles, "El Nos Ama" —with Evan Craft— and "Tempestad", and on the debut album, "La Voz de lo Que Se Olvidó" (2018), which already included "A un Mundo", "Antes Que Vivir", and "Desde El Suelo".

In 2023 came the live EP "La Corriente (Live Sessions #1)". The following year they released "Sería Una Desgracia" and its live recording, "Sería Una Desgracia (En Vivo)", the album that earned them a 2024 Arpa Award nomination (19th edition) in the Rock / Hard Rock Album category.

In June 2025 came "41 - Parte 1", a seven-track album —"Rompe los Techos", "Duele Más", "Raíz", "Causa", "41", "Te Vi y Temblé", and "El Turista"— that they performed live at Teatro Flores in Buenos Aires. That same year they released the single "Difícil" with Año Cero, and in 2026 they added "RESPIRá" in March and "AMOR TRÁGICO" in September.

What sets Fila9 apart is not volume but focus: lyrics full of metaphor and poetry that point to the cross and to a faith lived out in everyday life, not only on stage. Their official channel has passed 40,000 subscribers, and their catalog holds up both on headphones and in a church hall. If your youth group has a band looking for repertoire, here's a place to start: which of their songs would you add to the playlist?
