David Ordoñez.

Cali is home to David Ordoñez, a Colombian singer, songwriter, and producer who since 2018 has released his own songs in Spanish-language Christian urban pop. He writes, produces, and mixes much of his own material, and he almost always sings what he himself composes.

His first single, «Muévete», came out in 2018. In 2022 he released «Estoy Aquí», his first album: eleven tracks that already hinted at «Confiaré», one of his most-streamed songs. Two years later came «Mi Primer Amor» (2024), nine songs that cross Latin pop with urban and afro pop.

That album brought the most visible nomination of his career: Best Independent Album at the 19th Arpa Awards, held on November 7, 2024, at the Teatro Metropólitan in Mexico City. The 45th AMCL Awards (2024) also put him on its shortlists: «Mi Primer Amor» in Producer of the Year — a category that honors the album's producers (D-One Music, Emanuel Puentes, Diego Narváez, and Wubeat) and not the performer — and his part in «Gozo del Bueno», a collective song from the Christian urban scene, as Urban Song of the Year.

His music returns again and again to the psalms: «Salmo 63», «Salmos 145», «Jeremías 29:11», «Romanos 8:28-39», «Génesis 1», as well as EPs like «Tu Palabra, Vol. 1» and «Adoración En Casa (En Vivo)». On «Alba» (2026) he takes the dawn as an image of restoration: «Tú eres el alba, tú me traes calma».

In 2025 and 2026 he kept up a pace of almost a single a month: «Sálvame», «Fiesta En El Cielo», «Si Tú Estás Aquí», «Ola de Calma», «Mi Vida Te La Doy», and «Es Espectacular» (September 18, 2026), the most recent. He collaborates often with names from the Christian urban scene like Wubeat, Diego Lu, Creyente.7, and Pablo Betancourth.
