The question that calmed her worst day
Anne Wilson lost her brother at 15 and fame later brought her panic. Peace didn't come by forgetting the pain: it came when she chose to trust in Christ.
Anne Wilson was 15 years old on June 7, 2017. That day, seconds after learning that her older brother, Jacob, had died, she heard for the first time a question that didn't come from her:
"Anne, are you going to trust me or not?"
It was the voice of the Lord. And Anne, in the midst of the greatest pain of her life, made a conscious decision: to trust. "In that very instant —she says— I felt a peace like I had never experienced since then."
«I made a conscious decision to trust in the Lord, and in that very instant I felt a peace like I had never felt.»
But the story didn't end there. Years later, her first single, My Jesus, exploded: nine million streams in twelve hours. Success plunged her into a deep depression and panic attacks.
Again the emptiness. Again the question.
What sustained her wasn't "thinking positive" or pretending the pain didn't exist. It was returning to the same thing from 2017: surrendering to Christ. "I want to allow the Lord to use my life," she says today, "and learn to be okay with the Lord's plans above my own."
Notice the order: peace didn't come when the pain disappeared. It came when Anne stopped fighting to control it and put it in Christ's hands. He doesn't promise to take away every storm; He promises to be with you inside it.
"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7, ESV).
If fear is squeezing your chest today, you don't need to try harder to be okay. You need a Savior to rest in. What are you carrying alone to Christ that He already bore for you?
