The Palau Association announced that Jonatan Proietti will lead its team for Latin America starting in January and will continue as interpreter for Andrés Palau. Levi Park, global director, called him "a good leader, a man of character," Vida Cristiana reported.

A position that was vacant for five years

Proietti joined the organization in 2018 to lead the New Generation of Evangelists in the region, the network that trains, provides resources and opens spaces for collaboration. Under his leadership, that network grew to about a thousand members in Latin America. Worldwide, it brings together more than 7,000 evangelists in about 100 countries, Park said.

Edmundo Gastaldi, who shares the direction of Festivals with Carlos Barbieri and Jorge Scopazzo, recalled that the regional position remained unfilled for five years, since the death of Rubén Proietti.

«Faithfulness in little things is the résumé God reads first»

They were productive years nonetheless, he said: the festivals maintained their level and the evangelistic stamp that Andrés and Wendy Palau gave them. The region's team tested something Luis Palau used to repeat: a well-built structure sustains the mission when its founders are gone.

Jonatan also remembered his father. Rubén Proietti had previously led that same area and was a close friend and collaborator of Luis Palau; he died in 2021, half a year after the evangelist. On October 21 he would have turned 80.

Faithfulness before the stage

Park highlighted three things about Proietti: how he has been formed as a leader, the firmness of his character and his dedication to evangelism. None of them fit on a résumé; all three show in everyday dealings.

Jesus was direct: "One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much" (Luke 16:10, ESV).

Proietti joined the Association in 2018 and the appointment came now. Along the way there was a network to train, materials to share and teams to coordinate in several countries. That work is not seen on a stage, and it is precisely what sustains what is seen.

What you look at before accepting the chair

Proietti thanked the team for their trust. He recalled that the Association has protected its good name for decades, with respect and seriousness, and that its identity is centered on Christ and the Bible. He also described the Palau team as a family and said he wants to strengthen those bonds in each country.

Before saying yes to a position, look at who will sit with you at the table and what you will do when no one applauds. A position is filled; a team is cared for. Jesus set the order: "whoever would be great among you must be your servant" (Mark 10:43, ESV).

Park repeated the priorities that do not change in this stage: the gospel proclaimed, the church united and believers in motion. Proietti will give continuity to that mission, which also involves training new leaders and working alongside local churches.

If this announcement leaves anything for those just starting out, it is that faithfulness in little things is the résumé God reads first. Serve where you are, even if no one is watching you yet. And when it is your turn to choose someone for a position, ask yourself what weighs more: the résumé or the character.
