Fifteen Straight Hours of Prayer

Guatemala will hold a national day of prayer on Friday, October 30, 2026. The call, shared by Bendición News, presents the "Day of Clamor for Guatemala" as an initiative of pastors Fernando Solares and Jeremías Pirir.

The broadcast will start at 7:00 and end at 22:00. Radio Cultural TGN and Canal 27 will carry the signal on radio, television and internet during those fifteen hours.

The invitation goes out to pastors and their congregations, and also to media outlets and digital platforms. Each congregation can set up its own prayer spaces and rebroadcast the signal. For sharing, the hashtag #ClamorPorGuatemala is suggested.

The stated purpose is for churches to pray together for Guatemala's peace, for those who govern it and for the good of their families.

The Day Already Has a Precedent

On Radio Cultural TGN's YouTube channel, the video of the "Day of Clamor for Guatemala" from October 30, 2025 is still available. That day was held together with Canal 27 and could be followed on radio and online.

Diario Cristiano, in its coverage on November 1, 2025, reported that the previous edition brought together 48 media outlets: TV stations, radio stations and digital sites.

Both institutions behind the signal have a track record. Radio Cultural TGN began broadcasting on August 6, 1950; today it airs on AM, FM and internet and maintains a network of repeaters. Canal 27 lists Luis Fernando Solares as president and founder, and announced a Network of Friends that seeks for Christian TV and radio stations to work together.

The hope is that every station, channel or site that rebroadcasts the signal will add more people praying from home, work or church.

Praying for the Country and Its Leaders

The Bible places prayer for authorities among the church's first tasks: "First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions" (1 Timothy 2:1-2, ESV).

The passage does not distinguish parties or sides. It calls for prayer for those who govern so that the country's life may be peaceful, and James reminds us how powerful that prayer can be: "The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working" (James 5:16, ESV).

Praying for a country means asking for the good of all its inhabitants: peace, justice and cared-for families. The church does not pray to gain advantages for itself, but so that the whole society may live better.

If you want to join the national day of prayer, you have simple options: tune in to Radio Cultural TGN or Canal 27, rebroadcast the signal with your church or gather your small group at the same time. Mark the date: Friday, October 30, 2026, from 7:00 to 22:00. What if your community sets aside those fifteen hours to cry out for Guatemala?
