Emir Sensini releases Un Despertar: a cry for revival
Emir Sensini's new single arrives with a lyric video and a clear request: revival for a new generation.
«Un Despertar» is Emir Sensini's new single for 2026 and, according to the announcement on his YouTube channel, a cry for revival for a new generation.
If you're twenty and you pray for your generation, that title is a request. And requests are made on your knees. Music helps; prayer sustains.
A cry is not an emotion
A cry is a voice that rises together, not a private sigh. Asking for revival has always been an uncomfortable prayer: "revive your work in the midst of the years" (Habakkuk 3:2, ESV). The prophet wasn't asking for an event; he was asking God to act. In Psalm 85:6 the question goes in the same direction: "Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?" (Psalm 85:6, ESV). Life and joy come from God, not from the atmosphere.
«Revival is not produced by a launch.»
That's why I'm glad about a release with this language. And that's also why I'm careful about something: revival is not produced by a launch. It's not produced by a lyric video, or a catchy chorus, or the emotion of one night. God gives it, when he wants and to whom he wants. Our role is to ask for it with humility and be ready to obey if it comes.
What the song can't do alone
The release comes with the hashtag #Undespertar, a label that's easy to share on your phone. Share it, if you want. But a hashtag doesn't wake anyone up; a surrendered life wakes up, and that costs.
A new song doesn't change a generation by itself either. It becomes prayer when it's sung by a church that also preaches, serves, and forgives. That work is slow and almost never shows up in trends.
Sing it with the Bible open
If your church doesn't know the song yet, take it to your small group and open it with the Bible beside you, not just with the speaker. Ask what needs to wake up near you: a family in crisis, a school, a block where nobody greets each other. There the word revival stops being a slogan and becomes a concrete task.
There it's also tested whether what we're asking for is a feeling or a conviction. A young person can pray for their generation from their room, and their room is a good place to start. What they can't do is stay there.
After asking for revival, the uncomfortable question is whether you're willing to be part of the answer: in your home, at your job, in the way you treat those who think differently.
No one can manufacture a revival with good music or strategies. History is in God's hands, and that's a relief: you don't carry the task of waking up an entire generation. You get to be faithful where you are and leave the result in his hands.
This week you have a concrete step. Listen to «Un Despertar», add it to your worship playlist, and pray once a day for your generation, with names and last names. If you sing it in your church or small group, tell us how it went. And if you're waiting for a revival, here's the honest question: what do you want God to wake up in your generation? Write it in the comments.
